As the nights grow longer and the temperatures drop, we switch on our radiators and curl up in front of the fireplace.

Unfortunately, it’s also the time of year when we wash our hands more frequently owing to the prevalence of coughs and colds. This, of course, frequently results in itchy, dry, and irritated skin.

Many people buy hand lotion at the store, but did you know that you can create your own with soy wax flakes?

The good news is that you can produce your natural skin balm at home with Soy wax.

Did you know that you can use soy wax to produce a wonderfully moisturizing skin balm?

Why Is Soy Wax Used?

Soy wax, as opposed to paraffin wax, is a vegetable wax. Soy wax may be cleaned with water and is biodegradable.

Soy wax is manufactured from soybean oil. Before being rolled into soybean flakes, the beans are harvested, washed, and de-hulled.

The flakes are then extracted to liberate the oil, which is subsequently hydrogenated. The hydrogenation process converts part of the oil’s fatty acids from unsaturated to saturate.

Soy wax is smoother and creamier than beeswax, and it is also vegan. Let’s look at the skin benefits of soy wax.

Is Soy Wax Beneficial To The Skin?

The melting point of soy wax is just slightly higher than body temperature. It has a melting point of around 49 degrees Celsius. This implies it may be applied straight to the skin.

The only thing you’d have to be concerned about is the flame itself.

It creates terrific, nourishing oil if you have a soy wax candle with essential oils incorporated into the wax.

Simply burn the candle until there is a substantial amount of melted wax, extinguish the flame and then drip or dip your fingers straight into the oil before applying it to the skin.

Soy wax oil, when applied in this manner, leaves your hands (or any other area of your skin) soft and silky, with a nice aroma.

However, soy wax does not distribute odours as well as paraffin wax, although this does not limit its usage on the skin.

Soy wax is better for your skin than other waxes like beeswax and paraffin wax, and its low melting point allows it to be poured right where you need it.

Before using this extensively, like with any new product, perform a patch test. However, the odds of an unfavourable response are quite low.

Is Soy Wax Suitable For Hand Treatment?

Soy wax is made entirely of natural components, making it suitable for use on the skin.

It may be applied to any part of your body. It is advised that you use soy wax on anybody region where you would normally use another beauty product, such as a moisturizer.

Soy wax, for example, is excellent for dry and scaly skin, such as that seen on heels or elbows. Soy wax is also excellent for massaging and applying to cuticles.

Another thing to look out for is whether the candle has an excessive amount of scent oils. The appropriate soy wax produces a lovely, long-lasting aroma on the skin.

To ensure the safety of your soy wax, purchase from a reputable provider. The wax should include no more than 4% aroma oil.
